Today, the fly buzzes in and out, up and down,

moving with nonchalant ease,

free to go wherever he pleases.

He darts back and forth

with no concern for his life,

because he smartly avoids every threat.

His sharp, watchful eyes anticipate danger

and he quickly blasts off to the side.

Time after time he proves what he sees.

“I’m very good at escape,” he says, “so they’ll never catch me.”
